The Directing Actors Gym features New York's talented and emerging Actors and Writers for stage and screen in a scene series workshop at the Puerto Rican Travelling Theatre in Midtown Manhattan.

Our featured Guest Director is microbudget Auteur Gary King (http://films.grking.com) Director of Dismal (2009) currently airing on Showtime, Death of The Dead (2011) and Writer/Director of New York Lately (2009) and What's Up Lovely (2010) which are currently being shopped for distribution. A brand personality and fan favorite, Gary King has successfully raised $50,000 in crowdfunding from online fans & followers for his latest feature How Do You Write a Joe Schermann Song (2011) his first movie musical.

King has recently partnered with Producer Miles Maker, Hollywood Screenwriter Marvin Willson and Casting Director Kacee Devoe to develop and produce Gary's next feature which is currently in development in Los Angeles.

Performing Actors select a role of from one of three scripts--then perform with random scene partners for a live audience of industry peers. Our featured guest Director gives each Actor performance adjustments and feedback as audience members and industry guests contribute to the nurturing discussion. A general audience is welcome to attend in support of local talent.
